Robotics Biography:

Mr. William Sitch graduated from Carleton Engineering with a B.Eng. (with distinction) in the summer of 1999. His fourth-year project was the design and construction of an autonomous six-legged walking robot, named ITSY. William and ITSY gave more than ten oral presentations to different groups regarding ITSY's design and construction, receiving one of the highest marks in the Department of Electronics for the project, including a 1st place ranking in the oral presentations. William also won the "Best Technical Presentation" from the Ottawa chapter of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, "Best Presentation" from the regional IEEE student papers competition, and "Best Paper by a University Student" from the IEEE Canada Student Paper competition.

Mr. Sitch has been avidly involved with robotics since he first started at Carleton. In his third year, he advised the fourth-year robot project, CAVE. He will be teaching the 97.497: RoboTag course in the academic year 2000/2001 with the support of the Department of Electronics. He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University.
